Yves Saint Laurent has a new designer

Yves Saint Laurent announced yesterday morning that Heidi Slimane will be the new creative director that will replace Stefano Pilati. Slimane will be responsible for the brand’s image and its collections, but will also take care of his photographer career.

This is not the first time he works for Yves Saint Laurent. In 1996 he designed a clothing line for men and became artistic director of the house. From 2000 to 2007 he was creative director for Christian Dior, where he launched the Dior Homme line for men.

Slimane has not designed any clothes for women yet, but apparently this has not prevented people from YSL to replace Stefano Pilati with him. Pilate worked for Yves Saint Laurent for almost eight years.
