Women who have a gay friend feel more attractive

Women who don’t have a gay friend should find one, if they want to feel better about themselves. Latest research made by a psychologist in Canada and her colleagues published by, showed that the more gay friends a woman has, the better image about herself.

Nancy H. Bartlett, psychologist at Mount Saint Vincent University in Canada, made a survey on 154 straight women, with ages between 17 and 65. The half of the women who had at least one close gay friend, had a much better image about their bodies and felt more attractive than the others.

Though the researchers don’t have an exact explanation for this, it seems that friendship with gay men allow women “to enjoy the companionship of men while avoiding the sexual overtures that can intrude on relationships with straight men.”
