When the right people meet, you get to wear the universe on your wrist

The unique creativity of designers and artists not only fills the world with beauty, from the most practical forms bringing light into our daily lives, to the masterpieces we wish we were in a position to bid for at Sotheby’s – but also comes to be the inspiration behind written pieces, even more so when it is a collaboration between altogether original talents.

Cosmos-Beautiful Planet is the name of two fashion timepieces created by Australian visual artist Timothy John for luxury watchmaker Yvan Arpa. The encounter between the lyrical aesthetic vision of the first and the out there ideas of the math teacher, former Thai martial arts fighter, adventurer having crossed Papua New Guinea on foot, that after jobs at prestigious Swiss watchmakers opened his own horologerie, couldn’t be anything but amazing.

The Australian tells that he felt daunted by the concept of confining and at the same time encompassing the essence of the universe between the casing of a watch and that he fully enjoyed and appreciated the artistic evolution and growth he gained, while being proud of his achievement of making the universe ready to be worn around one’s wrist. And it is the man with vision Yvan Arpa that he is grateful to and not only that, the one with which he already shares his ideas for a few more series of art watches.
