Vogue celebrates their 120th anniversary with a documentary

US Vogue celebrates its 120th anniversary in an artistic way. Together with HBO, Vogue made a documentary about the fashion editors that have been working for the magazine along the years.  In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye, will feature interviews with designers such as Marc Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquiere, the creative director of Balenciaga, Vera Wang, and with celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker or Nicole Kidman, as well.

Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, is one of the most influential figures in the global fashion industry. She is the one who recommended Marc Jacobs for the creative director position at Louis Vuitton, in 1997, and he got the job. Apart from his work at Louis Vuitton, Jacobs is also known for his eponymous labels Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Little Marc Jacobs.

In 2010, he was on the list of the 100 most influential people in the world, in Time’s Magazine.

But this is not the first film in which you can see the designer. In 2007, filmmaker Loïc Prigent released a documentary film about Jacobs, named Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton.

Vera Wang, who is also going to appear in the movie, is known for her special wedding gowns. She started working for Vogue as a senior fashion editor in 1970, and left the magazine when she got turned down for the editor-in-chief position. After that, she worked for two years with Ralph Lauren.

Ana Wintour said, “the people who are responsible for the fashion images are the fashion editors. They have always been our secret weapon, so it seemed to me that we could celebrate Vogue, and also, at the same time, celebrate these great editors.”

In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye will also reveal how some of the magazine’s most famous fashion editorials came to life. The movie will be available in U.S.A beginning with the 6th of December and we cannot wait to see it in Europe and worldwide as well.
