Virginal Silhouettes And Extravagant Details In The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Collection

Imagine a collection so exclusive that even Hollywood stars won’t be able to flaunt it on the red carpet – Domenico Dolce told Fashion Telepraph reporters: “This collection is for our customers, and they do not want to see their dresses on a celebrity, in an advert, or in a magazine.”

The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda collection translated into royal silhouettes with wide, rounded skirts, reminiscent of the Vittorio Emanuele Galleria in Milan, outfits carefully sewn by hand from scratch, fashioned out of fine silk painted to resemble the stucco flourishes that are an architectural mark of 20th century Italy, peplum silhouettes of unmatchable grace and accentuated shoulders revealing tiny feminine waists, all sprinkled with the most extravagant jewelry – sculpted coral earrings encrusted with shiny diamonds and elegant pearls, chandelier earrings in precious yellow gold and cascades of gleaming gemstones that draw the eye into a sparkling haze.

Inspired by the Milanese architecture, the Italian designer duo’s second Alta Moda collection, with its virginal silhouettes in the purest of whites and perfectly executed details that make each piece absolutely unique, marks an epitome of elegance and distinction.
