Valentine’s Day Best Designer Presents

Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favourite! 🙂
Nothing compares with the smile of your loved one when receiving a gift.
So treat your better half with the best designer (and not only) presents!
*** Dolce & Gabbana, Vacheron Constantin, Gucci, Karl Lagerfeld, Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin, Charlotte Olympia, Veuve Clicquot, Moschino, Louis Vuitton, DSquared2 ***

Besides the tide of love and romance that sweeps the world each year on precisely the 14th of February, Valentine’s Day also is big business. Just think of last year’s Valentine’s turnover of 13 million dollars. Obviously, a great contribution has been made by the brands of the luxury industry, all having launched Valentine’s special collections. The designers have covered all of their bases: from fashion to cosmetics and from accessories to love-catering bottles of champagne, with love-pitching custom-made coolers.

The 14th of February surely is not just lovers’ favourite day, but also that of the great fashion houses. The reason is obvious: love makes one generous and giving. Additionally, nothing really compares to the smile of your loved one the moment they get a designer present.

Janina Nectara: Dolce & Gabbana plays into the importance of compatibility when it comes to fragrances as well. They’ve launched a collector’s special edition called The One. It’s made up of two perfumes, one for her and one for him, all coming to show that on Valentine’s Day we can coordinate our perfume with that of the one we love.

If some people see a good fragrance as the perfect Valentine’s gift, others consider accessories to be a much better match.

JN: What other better measure for the power of love than time? That’s why a Vacheron Constantin watch would be the ideal Valentine’s Day present. The famous Swiss brand has been custom-making watches – to the customer’s heart’s desire – ever since 1755. The orders are not made following catalogues with pre-designed models, but rather following the most secret dreams and passions of the potential client. Their great majority are dedicated to love stories.

The house of Vacheron Constantin is one of the most exclusivistic in the world and only has great tenure clients.

JN: This is how the czar Alexander II and the maharaja of Patiala have been among the clients of this elite service.

Nonetheless, the size of the fortune is irrelevant when it comes to securing becoming a client of Vacheron Constantin.

JN: Not all orders are accepted, because for each and every one of them, a commission has to convene in order to analyse the potential owner’s or his story’s compatibility with the rules and values of Vacheron Constantin.

An example of how to narrow down on women’s greatest loves – bags and shoes – is provided by Christian Louboutin and Charlotte Olympia. And if the feelings rise above the height of the designers’ 12 cm heels, then these presents are sure to pave the way to any woman’s heart.

JN: On Valentine’s Day, Louis Vuitton likes to have us remember it’s high time we fell in love. As on top of a jewelry line highlighting alluring love messages, they prepared a line of watches featuring token hearts on a passionate red background.

Then there are designers that have also thought about homosexual couples.

JN: DSquared2 follows the principle that every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. So, for gay couples, they made ingeniously printed t-shirts praising love, in all of its forms. Philipp Plein or Dolce & Gabbana have also patterned their masculine clothes with many a heart and symbols of love.

Valentino, Moschino, Salvatore Ferragamo or Karl Lagerfeld have on offer leather accessories – like key rings or wallets, all imprinted with love.

JN: Gucci takes the love declaration one step further by adding monograms to their products, making for personalised gift-making.

Veuve Clicquot, on the other hand, launched a special champagne delivered wrapped up together with a cooler that’s altogether lovingly unique. It can be turned into a loudspeaker to shout our love from and, why not, have amplified our feelings. After the due declarations, it can be put back to its case and filled with ice, meeting its initially-designed purpose – that of cooling the champagne (and, who knows, maybe also an over-heated atmosphere).

So, Valentine’s Day is also one more taken opportunity for the great brands to show that when it comes to design, impossible is nothing .
