The Tommy Hilfiger bag and #BreastCancerAwareness month!

Tommy Hilfiger has reached his eight year of dedicating a handbag model to raising awareness of the risk that breast cancer represents.

And after Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Renée Zellweger, Carla Bruni, Helena Christensen, Milla Jovovich and Claudia Gerini next to Cristiana Capotondi, the one speaking for Tommy Hilfiger’s cause over this #BreastCancerAwareness month is Naomi Watts.

Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier at home, in Los Angeles, the actress speaks about how ’’This initiative generates much-needed awareness for women’s health and raises significant funds to support families battling breast cancer. It means a great deal to me to be able to support such an admirable cause and I am determined to highlight the importance of early detection. With two young children I know how hectic life can be, but it only takes a few minutes to get a check-up.’’ While Susan Schwartz, Director of International Development at Breast Health International, the NGO benefiting 30% from the price of every limited edition bag sold, fills in the details about apparently trivial tasks that turn out to be extremely important, while uncovered by health insurance. It is precisely to these ends that this money goes to: transport to and from the clinic, childcare during the treatment of the mother and so many others.

Tommy Hilfiger has been and continues being involved in numerous humanitarian and development initiatives. In health, next to Millennium Promise, Autism Speaks, Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, for children, via Save the Children, War Child, Jumpstart, for the environment, through World Wildlife Fund, The Fresh Air Fund. He is a man dedicated to the ones around him as well as design!

This year’s bag, marine blue with caramel details and an accessory-tassel in the Hilfiger colours – red, white, blue – is also a tribute to style and the cause it was created for in the first place.

You can buy it for EUR 300 (EUR 100 of which go to BHI) and, also, remind your close ones about the vital importance of a breast control by photographing your Tommy Hilfiger bag and #BreastCancerAwareness dedicated pink accessories!
