The show of nails, at Paris Couture Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week Couture autumn/winter 2012 is over, but we’re still thinking about it. The extravagant outfits, paired with outstanding makeup and hair, are a good example of how opulence doesn’t always mean bad taste, but the opposite of it.

It was also a good time for us to take a look at what the designers and the beauty experts propose us for the next season. Concerning nails, one can easily observe the variety of colors suggested is not too big, but it’s beautiful.

The main trend remains the natural shades of beige and nude, as you can see in Valentino and Giambattista Vali presentations. Nail polishes in dark colors, especially black and burgundy are still a good option to take into consideration for next fall, as seen in the Armani Privé show. Jean Paul Gaultier also chose black nail polish, but he went for the red one as well, as a strong opponent for expressing his bold collection.

A different approach we saw at Chanel, where the nails were painted in two shades, light pink and shimmering silver, in an elaborated upside-down French manicure. Here’s a look at them!
