Stylish Safari: The Carven S/S 2013 Collection

For the Spring/Summer 2013 Carven collection, designer Guillaume Henry, creative director of the french fashion house, drew his influence from 20th century India and African Safaris, as well as from Art Nouveau star Émile Gallé.

The demeure silhouettes, such as ample skirts, tweed pieces, long jackets, dresses with below-the-knee hems and wide-legged trousers, were sweetened with the help of laser cutouts, positioned in the most surprising places: on the middle section of a blazer, on dresses’ decolletage, on coats’ busts or on the sides of dresses, for a feminine and playful effect.
