Stella McCartney Fall/Winter 2013: The Masculine Aesthetic Manipulated Into Feminine Silhouettes

Extracting elements from the masculine aesthetic and manipulating them in such a manner as to create feminine silhouettes, Stella McCartney imagined for the Fall/Winter 2013 season, a collection with a fresh vibe, yet a powerful air of sophistication, in the label’s classic style.

Masculine blazers were elongated to create chic coats, while pinstripes, mostly a menswear pattern, adorned the majority of looks, from strapless trapeze-dresses and calf-length flared skirts, to sweaters, parkas or peplum tops with plunging V-necklines.

Polo shirts and turtlenecks with a masculine feel were reinvented into dresses with inserts of delicate lace, while for nighttime, McCartney proposed looks made up of wide-legged trousers, paired with tops featuring chic drapings.
