Something special in the air: Elie Saab Fragrance

After the Elie Saab show, the evening ended with the official launch of his first perfume – a fancy party where again I came across the distinguished Isabelle Cerboneschi of Le Temps.

Isabelle introduced me to Francis Kurkdjian, the perfume maker who extracted the essence of the Saab Maison.

Of Armenian origins, Kurkdijan has collected in his impressive portfolio brand names for which he created fragrances which may right this instant be pulverized on your own skin. At the end of a long and fruitful collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier, Francis Kurkdjian added to his CV names such as Dior, Ungaro, Armani, Ferre, Guerlain, Kenzo, Lancome, Versace or Yves Saint Laurent.

After no less than forty-five proposals and only two hundred and seventy nine versions, Saab and Kurkdijian agreed on the optimal choice meant to fully give the olfactive expression of the Saab brand identity. A real exercise of the will coupled to a Sisyphean work. After all, who can memorize and recognize so many fragrances? But it all worth it.

Now, the acclaimed “Eau de Parfum” bottle is a must for all the cosmetics shops and its customers craving for a piece of Saab‘s haute fashion.

It’s official: Elie Saab mania started!
