Sleeping Beauty: Treatments That Work Overnight


If you’re a busy girl who’s always on the run, you know very well how hard it is to make time for beauty treatments, which can sometimes take up a good portion of your free time. Here are a few beauty rituals that you can easily follow daily, as they work overnight, while you take your beauty sleep.

>> Apply a moisturising hair mask before going to bed. Choose one that’s appropriate fr your hair type and you’ll shoot two birds with one stone: after eight hours of continuous hydration, all you need to do is rinse it off and dry your hair, with no need for a straightening or curling iron.

>> Also for carefree mornings when it comes to your hair, try this: apply an anti-frizz treatment before going to bed, and you’ll eliminate the risk of waking up with it all tangled up and out of place. Fresh, chilly air is also recommended, so make sure you sleep with your window open.

>>To keep your curls intact overnight, apply a bit of product for curly hair before getting into bed and try sleeping on a satin pillow. This is not only good for your hair, but for your skin as well, as it prevents wrinkling.

>> If you want a cool just-out-of-bed look, take a few thick strands and braid them loosely before getting into bed. This works better if the hair is wet.

>> If you have straight hair and you’re afraid of waking up without any bit of volume, apply a volumising spray before bed and roll a couple of thick strands onto large rolls, right near the roots of your hair. In the morning, all you have to do is take them off, shake your hair a bit by running your fingers through it and spray a bit of hairspray while holding your head upside down.

>> To get silky smooth hands and feet, apply an exfoliating treatment right before bed, and then a rich, moisturising cream. Sleep with a pair of gloves and socks on – the extra heat will make the cream better infiltrate into your skin.

>> To wake up without those pesky dark circles, even if you’ve gone to bed late, apply a bit of eye cream that contains caffeine – the miracle ingredient that zaps any sign of tired eyes.

>> For fabulous nails, apply a few drops of cuticle oil over the tips of your fingers, letting it drip and go into your skin.

>> Don’t forget to apply hydrating cream to your face and eyes (choose one that has a special formula for the eye area) each and every night – a mandatory ritual for any woman. To fight against wrinkles, choose a cream that contains retinol and hyaluronic acid. Both work very well overnight.

>> To avoid waking up with puffy eyes, invest in a beautifying eye mask that releases antioxidants and ceramides during the night.

>> For a relaxing sleep, light a scented candle before going to bed and leave it in your bedroom so it can diffuse your favourite scent. Just remember to blow off the candle before going to sleep.
