Sexy Beasts In Viktor & Rolf’s Show

For Viktor & Rolf’s Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection, a giant full moon at the end of the runway played the role of the guardian, casting dramatic shadows over the models’ silhouettes, bringing a mystic air to the entire show.

Dark romance. This seems to have been the starting idea for the designer duo’s latest collection, with outfits inspired by creatures of the night, either real, imaginary or even mythological.

A series of fur coats with multiple cuts, looking like their owner must have gotten in a fight with a vicious animal, were paired with outfits with fur trims, resembling those of a hunter who wears his prey as a symbol of victory over nature.

The designers also imagined a series of pyjama-inspired looks, in cascades of silk with animal prints, which went very well with the show’s nocturnal theme.

The play upon proportion was visible within the show, as well as a series of drapings which served to give the collection a more feminine feel.

Panels of transparent fabric and glass, sequin, frill of fringe appliqués, with an Art Deco edge, gave the outfits a touch of sexiness.
