Scottish Heritage With A Modern Twist In Christopher Kane’s F/W 2013 Collection

For the Fall/Winter 2013 season, Christopher Kane created a collection featuring silhouettes as powerful as they were sophisticated.

Kilts, an element evoking the designer’s love towards his Scottish roots and the influence that they have on his creativity, were transformed into a recurring feature of the show, and were reinvented in camouflage prints for a modern allure, or glamour versions, featuring feather appliqués.

Among the show’s most powerful looks were the biker jacket reinvented in fox fur, for a most luxurious and glamorous effect, velvet dresses with seductive cutouts or dresses entirely fashioned out of tulle embroided with Art Nouveau swirls, and the oversize coats and jackets with waists accentuated via belts featuring kilt buckles.
