Sexy Felines In Roberto Cavalli’s Show

Watch the Roberto Cavalli Fall/Winter 2012-2013 show here:

For his Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection, Roberto Cavalli imagined a menagerie of never-before-heard-of creatures, which came to life in a frenzy of fabric and colour, on a runway made up of 40,000 flowers in a tiger pattern.

And when I say „menagerie”, I mean a totally innovative combination of prints and animal motifs. Python skin was painted to resemble that of a feline, ponyskin was made intro crocodile skin, patches of fur were expertly stitched together like feathers to form skirts and a myriad of beads and paillettes were so closely sewn together that one could easily confuse them with an outlandish type of reptile skin.

The animal-inspired fantasy was brought to life through short skirts, trousers with flared legs, floor-length skirts, and also, a series of sexy cocktail dresses and an evening gown of shimmering purple sequins, glimmering with every step, clinging to the body of the world’s most famous feline, Naomi Campbell.

„Excess” and „exotic” are not new words in Cavalli’s vocabulary, but thanks to an impeccable styling, the latest collection for the new season might just be the most luxurious one that the Italian designer has yet to create.
