For the collection showed yesterday at Milan Fashion Week, Roberto Cavalli chose to interpret the unique inspiration of Oriental ornamental arts and the unparalleled mastery of Italian artisanship in a key just as powerful and, also, exotic to his first two starting points – the cinematography of the silver screen.
Dresses more elaborately embroidered than even the most elegant ladies of the Jazz Age have ever seen, jackets and trousers with prints saturated with complexity in a palette of delicate shades that could steal the show from the most beautiful and talented actresses, glamorous accessories and luxurious furs, all these captured vivid applauses from the impressed audience.
Roberto Cavalli S/S 2014 definitely succeeded a textbook demonstration of style’s theorems. But I’ll better let the images speak for themselves…
