Reem Acra Fall/Winter 2013: Risqué Glamour

Along with her signature sculptural evening gowns beaded with a myriad glittering paillettes, Reem Acra included a risqué factor in his collection for the upcoming Fall/Winter season, in the form of fishnet detailing.

Conserving the label’s glamorous aesthetic that we’ve grown accustomed to, Acra succeeded in reinterpreting an element that women often avoid for fear of ending up looking too provocative, into elegant versions that showcase femininity. From prints reminiscent of fishnet stockings, transferred onto romantic dresses and even shoes, to real fishnet overlayed onto floor-sweeping silk gowns, the seductive accent made its way into almost every look of the collection.

Another key-element of the show was the Japanese influence, visible in the floral embroidery and appliqués, as well as in the silhouettes of kimono-jackets, which brought the delicateness of the far-away lands of the Orient onto Reem Acra’s runway.
