Ralph Lauren F/W 2013: A Collection For A Modern Anna Karenina

The daywear outfits from the Ralph Lauren Fall/Winter 2013 collection alternated between nautical inspiration, with sailor pants and subtle gold thread embroidery on a couple of outerwear pieces, and a Russian influence, with fluid dresses in royal velvet, bringing to mind the image of a modern Anna Karenina.

The nighttime outfits detached themselves from the masculine feel of the first half of the show, concentrating mainly on the Russian theme. Evening gowns with ample A-line silhouettes, dripping with elegance, in taffeta or tulle embroided with suave Chanitlly lace, featuring romantic trains and accessorised with elbow-length gloves and fur capes and hats, invaded the runway, in a fantasy of romanticism and femininity.
