Whether you have a deliciously voluptuous silhouette or are more the boyish type, whether you have a super-feminine cleavage or would like to enhance a smaller bust, you should definitely embrace this summer’s hottest trend: printed dresses. Learn how to pull off the IT-look of the season, with this set of helpful tips:

If you have an androgynous silhouette

boyish

>> Add volume and curves with statement prints. Go as wild as you like!

>> A peplum detail or ruffles at the waistline add volume, as well as creating an hourglass shape.

>> So does an A-line style dress.

>> Choose a dress with a pleated skirt, which will add fullness and feminine curves to your boyish frame.

>> Diagonal or horyzontal stripes are also a good choice.

>> A printed maxi dress will hide a pair of legs that you feel look too skinny.

>> Cutouts at the hip area create the illusion of fullness.

If you have a curvy silhouette

 curvy

>>Try an A-line style, which will enhance the hourglass shape of your silhouette.

>> Choose a colour blocked dress that has a darker colour print around the hip area, which you most likely want to camouflage.

>> Avoid fabrics that are too tight and that cling to your body, but nevertheless, refrain from going too far towards the opposite direction, wearing something that is too loose. Find the perfect balance between fitted and loose and choose fine, airy fabrics, such as chiffon or silk.

>> Accentuate your waist by cinching the middle of your dress with a belt.

>> Shorter skirts make your legs appear longer. 3 inches above the knee is the perfect length for you.

>> When choosing a striped style, make sure the stripes are vertical, never horyzontal.

>> Camouflage a pair of thighs that you feel need a bit more toning, by choosing a printed maxi dress in chiffon of silk.

If you have a small bust

small bust

>> Avoid fabrics that cling to the body. Choose a dress that’s flowy at the top and cinch in the waist to create fullness in your bust area.

>> Go wild with big prints – floral, paisley, psychedelic, abstract – anything goes, really.

>> A brighter colour print around the bust area will optically maximise its shape.

If you have a full bust

 big bust

>> Go for small and/or dark prints in the bust area.

>> Dresses with colour blocked vertical panels will sculpt your shape, minimising your bust line.

>> Balance out a full bust with an ample skirt. Don’t forget to accentuate your waist to create an hourglass figure!
