The Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in Florence, Italy, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Marilyn Mornoe’s death by launching a book displaying rare photos of the starlet. Entitled simply “Marilyn”, the album features snapshots taken throughout the actress’ entire life, including photos taken of film sets and at home, and will be launched on September 25th. The images included in the book are never before seen photos of the starlet and the launch will coincide with the exhibition held as an homage to Marilyn, at the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.

The exhibition will be taking place from June 20tth 2012 to January 28th 2013, with an entrance fee of €5,00. Both the photo album and the exhibition are edited and supervised by museum director Stefania Ricci and art critic Sergio Risaliti. Alongside snapshots of the most important moments in the actress’ life, 50 of her most iconic outfits will be showcased, including her favourite pair of Ferragamo heels, given that Marilyn is credited with making the Italian brand’s footwear famous across the world.
