Prada Fall/Winter 2013: A Collection Dripping With Drama

Each season, Miuccia Prada’s show is expected with much excitement. A general feeling of raw emotion and anticipation flutters through the air while the audience awaits to see the new stylistic directions that will come to dictate a good part of next season’s trends. The Fall/Winter 2013 collection made, of course, no exception to the rule: Miuccia imagined a memorable show in which the aura of mystery collided with an air of audacity and provocation, the result dripping with drama and sensuality.

In a glamorous fantasy reminiscent of the cinematic masterpieces of the Fourties, the runway was invaded by looks made up of coats with A-line silhouettes, accentuated waists and fur-trimmed cuffs for an effect of nobility, as well as tailored jackets worn over pencil skirts and sensual dresses paired with luxurious fur coats. The heavy fabrics, such as tweed, fur or leather, were toned down by the fragility and sensuality of the intricate beading, creating a perfect balance that conveyed femininity in its purest form of expression.
