Prada – Colourful Mosaic at Milan Fashion Week

Fashion lovers have long agreed on what seems to be an unwritten law: Miuccia Prada is the one that, with each season, sketches trends, with such an authoritary tone, that every true fashionista feels obligated to comply.

What does Miuccia order for next season? Black. Lots of black. An abundance of black, in which you can almost lose yourself. And if head to toe black is not really your thing, you can switch to the opposite side and choose to wear outfits in mosaic prints, in an apparently random colour palette. Make sure to top it all off with lots of jewelry and statement accessories. You surely cannot go wrong.

The Prada Fall/Winter show held in Milan brought to attention a series of austere all-black looks, paired with an explosion of colours and prints.

The black outfits were softened by an avalanche of geometrical rhinestone appliqués. Dresses and tailored pants in shades of orange, deep blue or purple were strategically cut above the ankle, as to showcase the footwear – Mary Janes or rubber-coated platforms in colourful designs.

Miuccia also favoured a play upon hemlines – a series of expert layering created the illusion of depth, offering the entire collection a distinguished feel.
