Play Upon Volume In The Gianfranco Ferre F/W Show

For the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 Gianfranco Ferré collection, designer-duo Stefan Citron and Federico Piaggi drew their inspiration from helmut Lang’s iconic portraits, imagining a combination on graphic, yet feminine creations.

Following their „vision of the garment as a structure in movement”, the two have chosen that this season the focus would be on cuts, which they perfected, bringing to attention „an androgyny that, freed from all rigidity, is totally sensual”.

Besides a lot of black, the chromatic palette included neutral tones – grays, blues, nudes, but also some metallic hues.

The two designers played with volumes, creating loose, comfortable silhouettes, but also with layering, creating bold, unusual looks, like the oversized blazer with multiple lapels or the series of coats with enormous collars.

To balance the volumes, the garments were accentuated by belts and accessorized with long gloves with zips and metal cuffs.

The show’s finale featured a series of cocktail dresses and eveningwear, including a metalic panel minidress with zip detailing and evening gowns with architectural silhouettes.
