Parisian Fashion Meets English Stret Culture In The Nina Ricci S/S 2013 Show

“Paris fashion has many things: It’s elegant, chic, but it doesn’t have an element of street culture.” Those were the words of creative director Peter Copping, in the backstage of the Nina Ricci Spring/Summer 2013 show at Paris Fashion Week.

Thus, among the biais-cut dresses, demeure skirts and cardigans cut from the finest fabrics, Copping injected a series of surprising elements, such as fishnet details, present not only in the form of hoisery, but also in the print of a trenchcoat, over a short skirt or on the back of skinny pants. Tweed pieces were reinterpreted in iridiscent tones, while cocktail dresses were fluid, thanks to fringing and multiple romantic frills.
