Old Hollywood Glamour In The Viktor & Rolf Show At PFW

For the Spring/Summer 2013 season, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren drew their inspiration from the glamorous Old Hollywood era. Starting with the antique mirror that the models came through onto the runway, just like being released from a time capsule, and culminating with the elegant looks: floor-length dresses with pleated skirts, in silver lamé, or with silk georgette veils draped all around the silhouette, along with tiny waist and large shoulder looks, the entire show perfectly portrayed the spirit of Old Hollywood.

Sweet accents, such as the bows that adorned the waists of dresses and skirts, were alternated with shock-elements, a signature of the designer duo’s collections, such as Plexiglas appliqués in the shape of roses, added to a floor-length skirt made out of tiny tulle frills.
