Cult classic shoes, cult fashion: Ferragamo FW15

Ferragamo is all about gorgeous revolutionary shoes. If it wouldn’t be also about highly creative while minimalist fashion! The invention and beauty venture started by Salvatore Ferragamo 88 years ago thanks to his drive and passion for shoes, now has an established all-round design personality.

And, as from the times of the founder himself, its latest achievement is, actually, its latest collection.

Under the helm of Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti, the Ferragamo podiums have gained a cult status. That of a runway where the shown pieces are, each and one of them, impersonations of style. What this means to say is that the lines, colours as well as the concepts attached to the Ferragamo seasonal sets are so essential and light that, indeed, are best akin to the concept of style itself.

For fall-winter 2015/2016, the use of colour and pattern were both reduced to the primary, with the exquisite quality of Ferragamo tailoring adding texture and depth to the designs. Black was paramount, joined by graphite grey, chocolate brown, red and an intense tone of green. Constantly in block color ensembles, the 1980s inspired shapes of the midi skirts, poncho-shawls and turtle neck dresses shone through the lushness of the fabrics – fur, leather and knit work – and the movement provided by frequent pleats and irizations. The only extravagances in sight were the finale spaghetti straps plunging neckline silk dresses and, of course, the shoes.

At the same time unconventional and wardrobe musts here to stay!
