Net-a-Porter To Launch Print Magazine

Luxury e-tailer Net-a-Porter is set to launch a print magazine sometime during the next 12 months, according to a statement released by Mark Sebba, the brand’s CEO.

“Twelve years ago when Natalie Massenet launched Net-a-Porter, it wasn’t so much about revolutionising shopping as revolutionising the magazine industry. It’s about understanding the media side of commerce rather than just trying to move products. I don’t want to denigrate the retail side in any way as it pays the rent, but advertising revenue increasingly pays the rent as well.” declared Sebba for Wired UK.

Net-a-Porter already has an online weekly magazine, available via an iPad app as well. The only time that this was printed, though, was last year, when the brand sent a limited edition of their spring/summer issue to their corporate clients.

Given the founder’s impressive background – Natalie Massenet has worked for Women’s Wear Daily and Tatler before launching her website, doubled by the hiring of Lucy Yeomans, former editor-in-chier of British Harper’s Bazaar, it’s no surprise that critics and fashionistas alike are anxiously awaiting the launch of the Net-a-Porter magazine in print.
