Mystic Symbolism In The Couture Atelier Versace Collection

Opening the 2012 Couture Calendar, the Atelier Versace show wowed with an array of showstopping gowns.

Along with the idea of deconstruction and reconstruction, the couture collection imagined by Donatella for the Atelier Versace Fall/Winter 2012 show featured symbolic imagery, such as details inspired by tarot cards, as well as reproductions of the sun, the moon and the world.

Flowing gowns in seemingly weightless fabrics were interwoven on the runway with short, skintight dresses with elaborate embellishments. Luxurious fabrics, such as luscious silk and precious organza were further adorned with intricate beading and crystal appliqués, creating a mesmerizing effect.
