Moncler Gamme Rouge: Aquatic Couture

As creative director for the sportswear label Moncler, Giambattista Valli created for the Spring/Summer 2013 season a vibrant collection, in which bathing suits with shiny black bead appliqués and short organza dresses managed to shift the idea of sporting equipment into a new dimension: aquatic couture.

Among the gymnasts who were exercising their athletic skills, feminine silhouettes walked onto the runway, dresses in fishnet looks adorned with floral appliqués, jackets made out of tiny tulle frills, shiny metallic tops imitating a mermaid’s tail, along with a series of masculine silhouettes, perfectly dresses for a luxury summer vacation.
