Miu Miu – A Mix Of Abstract Prints, Lively Colours And Androgynous Silhouettes

For the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 season, Miuccia Prada imagined for Miu Miu a series of outfits inspired by men’s fashion, with rigid cuts and loose fits.

Oversized masculine blazers, straight-cut trousers and Seventies-collared shirts were accessorized with ascots, wide belts and chunky platform shoes.

The somber looks were softened by a series of prints, from Beetlejuice-ish stripes, to zig-zag prints and abstract motifs. The colour palette seemed to come to life on the runway. Turquoise, orange, scarlet, khaki and deep blue were chosen by Miuccia to lighten up the tone of the collection, in a chromatic whirlwind meant to remind us that the cold season isn’t necessarily a time of darkness.

For those who would like to try something other than pantsuits next season, Miuccia created an alternative, in the form of short A-line dresses with mirror appliqués, granting the entire collection a touch of femininity.
