Mini Skirts To Be Banned In Indonesia

Summer is almost here but instead of information about the latest trends and tips on how to achieve the perfect abs and legs for swimsuit season, Indonesian women are about to receive…a ban against short skirts.
The proposal comes from religious affairs minister Suryadharma Ali, as part of the newly-formed anti-pornography task force.

Ali’s opinion is that any skirt with a hemline above the knee constitutes inappropriate apparel, motivating that the rising number of sexual assaults and rapes have to do with the fact that men are lured by womens’ “pornogaphic” looks.

It is still uncertain if Indonesia will have a law banning women from wearing mini skirts, given that the initiative has received a lot of criticism, linked to the fact that the Indonesian Government seems to be losing track of its priorities.
