Bottega Veneta spring-summer 2014 was all about beauty. The music, the model’s smooth glide over the runway, svelte silhouettes, sweet A line dresses, everything was a like a knit so masterful it reminded me of the iconic Bottega Veneta cabat.
Tomas Maier, BV’s Creative Director, was saying before the show that he wanted to let himself get carried away by the fabrics, toward the countless interpretations they evoke. And then, on the runway came organza, satin, silk, shimmering cotton, crepe, leather and mohair, luxurious, heavy materials whose personalities were dressed in burnt red, mauve and salmon, luxuriant pleats and tasselled textures.
When femininity is enough. Bottega Veneta.
