Male Model Andrej Pejic On The Cover Of Elle Serbia

Did you think that only a woman could make the cover of a glossy magazine look glamorous? Well, you’re wrong! We absolutely adore Elle Serbia’s new January cover, which features a male model in the spotlight, for a delightful difference.

The star of the January edition of Elle Serbia is male model Andrej Pejić. Just like a chamileon, Andrej transforms in the pages of the magazine, playing both a male and female role, in a fashion spread named ”Victor Victoria” (after the 1982 musical). Shot especially for Elle in New York by photographer Dusan Reljin, the spread features the talent of Nenad Janjatovicas fashion editor.

Heariong about the initiative, designer Jean Paul Gaultier has shown great interest in the project, promptly sending a set of clothes for Pejić to wear in his photo shoot. Thus, Andrej is wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier total look both on the cover, as for the male part of the spread, with clothes for the feminine half being provided mostly by lingerie houses, such as La Perla and Agent Provocateur.

Andrej Pejić is known in the modeling world for his rare ability to model both as a male and a female, thanks to his androgynous figure. In 2001, Andrej walked down the runway for both the men’s and women’s collections signed by Jean Paul Gaultier, and within the same year, he modeled both menswear and womenswear by Michael Michalsky for the designer’s StyleNite event in Berlin.Andrej is featured as #18 in the Top 50 male models of the world, and has also been featured in FHM’s 2011 100 Sexiest Women in the World top, a controversial move which only brought him even more popularity.
