KRISVANASSCHE F/W 2015/2016: Sportswear gone high fashion

The masculine collection shown by Kris Van Assche at Paris Fashion Week has a distinctly experimental underlining. If the Belgian designer has made it his trademark to, for his own House, KrisVanAssche, as well as for Dior Homme, offer ultra-essentialised looks, what he chose to sublimate this time were two social trends of the year 2015.

The man for whom Van Assche has designed is dedicated to functionality, to a simplicity chosen as rightful expression of solid principles and lifestyle convictions, while his heart beats to the musical rhythm of New Wave. As the designer himself explains, ’’I liked the idea that this guy would wear sportswear during the day, but would listen to New Wave during the evening.’’

The fashion correspondent of this personality? Woollen suits with shapes that are almost aerodynamic, trousers cropped around the ankle, shirts, trenches, but nothing that could possibly constraining or would limit the freedom of movement, sports shoes, rucksacks and an unexpected colour palette. One inspired by camouflage wear, with tones of black, grey, blue and green, sometimes contrasting with ample effusions of ruby red.

The urban soldier styling of a man adapted to the lifestyle emanated by the concrete jungle he lives in.
