Had Renaissance artists lived in the Florence of the 1970s, had the centuries of glory in the Italian capital of art been not only classical, but also nonconformist… But no, these kinds of speculations are pointless utopias. As Just Cavalli fall-winter 2014/2015 was the product of the pure and original inspiration of none other than Roberto Cavalli!
The Italian designer put together rock shapes of this mad decade with prints, patterns, inserts and sheer injections of textures and concepts inspired by the architecture and decorative arts of the unparalleled Florentine Renaissance. Geometrical jackets, loose blazers, slim trousers, glove-boots and tasselled accessories got overtaken by a barely tamed abundance of imagery borrowing profiles and colour from anything starting with statues, all the way to frescoes and tapestries. An articulate fashion declaration of Just Cavalli freedom and youth!
