Browsing through the latest issue of the Romanian edition of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, a face that I know caught my eye and a familiar smile reminded me to join a noble cause. Chime For Change continues its magnificent women empowerment battle and Janina Nectara supports the process, chiming for a new project powered by the Hollywood actress Jada Pinkett Smith – Rape for Profit – a documentary about sex trafficking in a major US city.
Following the initiative of an exceptional trio, Frida Giannini, Beyoncé and Salma Hayek, Gucci is hosting a colossal humanitarian project on a global level, dubbed Chime For Change, thought out as a platform aimed towards bringing to light the struggles that millions of women face, while promoting the simplest solutions for solving them by the overall power of people everywhere. Education, health and justice for each women, everywhere – this is the cause supported by Chime For Change.
In Romania, the ambassador of the Chime For Change campaign is Janina Nectara, founder of www.FashionAvecPassion.com, (named by Harrods Blog Of The Week and chosen by an increasing number of fashion houses to broadcast live their fashion show). Invited by the house of Gucci to join the initiative, she will be bringing her contribution to the actions of the team of founders, consultants and ambassadors all around the world.
As a pinnacle of the enthusiasm that Chime For Change has already stirred, June 1st marked the date of a colossal charitable concert in London. The Sound Of Change Live was headlined by Beyoncé, who came amongst other stars: Jay Z, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J Blige, John Legend, Laura Pausini, Timbaland, Rita Ora, Florence + the Machine, all took the stage for electrifying artistical moments, while Madonna, Prince Harry, Aishwarya Rai, Freida Pinto, Frida Giannini, Iggy Azalea, Salma Hayek, Zoe Saldana and Ziggy Marley, presented the women and their stories, which embody the sought-after change.

A global initiative that she completes by inviting people to submit small, yet significant donations, capable of changing lives. The concept, called crowdfunding, involves raising critical small sums from large numbers of contributors. The promotion channels used by chimeforchange.org – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube – are gaining more and more fans each day.
Each day, new projects are being financed. The first step is to learn the issues that an impressive number of girls and women have to face each day. Then, to donate even the smallest of sums, for a truly global impact. Complete details are available on Facebook/ChimeforChange.
