Issey Myake S/S 2013: A Young & Fresh Collection

The Issey Myake Spring/Summer 2013 collection perfectly captured the spirit of the warm season: beauty, vitality and freshness.

An explosion of colours, eye-catching prints that are almost optical-illusion-inducing, layering, transparencies and breezy, fluid silhouettes with a distinct elegance to them, all came together to make the Issey Myake show a true hit.

The novelty techniques used to make the clothes, such as “double-sided transfer printing” (which means colouring fabric on each side separately, so that each print is visible through the other), “yarn melting” and “steam stretch” (used to make almost every outfit in the show), contributed to the achieving of the fresh, urban air of the collection.
