Hermès S/S 2013: The Reiteration Of Classic Silhouettes In A Modern Context

Hermès creative director Christophe Lemaire imagined for the Spring/Summer 2013 season a collection in which the brand’s classic silhouettes are presented in a new context, with a dash of modernism: a series of trenchcoats, feminine silhouettes printed with the house’s classic scarf motifs, worn mismatched for a chic effect, and reinvented versions of the label’s signature bags, Kelly and Birkin.

The amazing craftsmanship of the artisans of the house of Hermès was visible in the case of leather pieces, from leather tops and shorts in turquoise crocodile skin or in eggshell and royal blue suede, to dresses with straps resembling harnesses, boxy jackets and skirts with leather panels that go over the hemline.
