Happy dots, polka dots!

It seems that the dots – inconceivably named other than polka dots – got their name after the vitality and happiness they inspire made them, at the end of the 19th century, just as popular as the similarly bursting with punctuated energy polka dance.

But the actual reason for which they were able to maintain this allure of hit among the prints for, by now, decade upon decade of being seen as both classic and a sign of nonconformist, is most likely due to some mysterious… ’’polka X’’ factor! As promoted, worn, painted or super(man)-valued – see the ’’the dots of’’ list below – polka dots have been and continue being all the rave! From the world of Disney to Hollywood and even the Tour de France!
