GRAFFITI POP ART IN MANISH ARORA’S COLLECTION

Watch the Manish Arora Fall/Winter 2012-2013 show here:

This season’s show for Manish Arora was hosted by Cité de la Mode et du Design.

The starting point for the Indian designer’s collection was the urban image of the big cities.

Sculptural silhouettes were the backbone of an electrifying collection full of sumptuous fabrics, printed with Pop Art motifs.

The elegance of the Fifties was brought to life through a series of experimental techniques and updated to contemporary time by adding psychedelic pops of colour inspired by the chromatic palette of gemstones: emerald green, sapphire blue and ruby red.

And since nothing about Manish Arora’s collections is ever bland, the footwear was adorned in the same manner as well. Collaborating with Nicholas Kirkwood and Pollini, Arora set his mark on the shoes through a series of appliqués mimicking the effect of holographic imagery.

All of this took place in front of a white wall, graffiti painted by a couple of young men to read „Life is beautiful”.

Just like Manish Arora’s clothes.
