Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013: The Harshness-Graciousness Duality

For the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013 collection, Ricardo Tisci went with showcasing the femininity-toughness duality, imagining a line-up in which the two concepts were expertly merged.

Sensual pencil skirts, fashioned out of transparent tulle, embroided with tiny flower or gold stud appliqués, were paired with tops printed with half the image of Bambi, the popular Disney character, half the image of a classic painting, or matched with leather jackets with a tough allure.

Gypsy-inspired looks, with multiple frills and romantic rose prints, came out onto the runway alongside sophisticated outfits printed with elegant paisleys in precious yellow and gold tones. Carrying on with illustrating the contrast between harshness and graciousness, Tisci ended his show with a series of outfits made up of heavy wool sweaters with straight-cut silhouettes, paired with floor-grazing skirts in transparent tulle, embroided with sparkling sequins.
