Giambattista Valli S/S 2013: Masculine Vs. Feminine In A Game Of Contrasts

For his Spring/Summer 2013 collection, designer Giambattista Valli chose to explore the antithesis between feminine and masculine, accentuating this effect by having models step on the runway in a game of contrasts: looks made up of tailored trousers and menswear-inspired vests and jackets were followed each by dresses with ultra-feminine accents, such as floral embroidery, transparent fabric inserts and snug silhouettes.

Towards the end of the show, the mood shifted completely towards femininity, with boxy silk jackets printed with floral motifs and cocktail dresses with drapings and peplum waists, embroided with intricate patterns, for a most romantic finale.
