Fendi Fall/Winter 2013: The Extravagant Exercise Of Texture

The raw, primitive allure of fur and leather met the freshness of futurism in a collection dripping with expressivity, luxury and extravagance, created by Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi for the Fall/Winter 2013 season.

From bags and booties to bangles, belts, sunglasses and even the models’ hairdos, a big part of the Fendi collection was expertly decked in fur, but the pieces that truly stole the show were the clothes – coats, tops and skirts in different colour mink and jackets and overcoats with graphic motifs in an extravagant mix of mink and cashmere.

The fur outfits were completed by leather looks, with clean-cut, severe lines, translated into structured silhouettes.

In an excellent exercise of texture, Lagerfeld transformed traditional fabrics into innovative ones, such as in the case of leather treated to imitate fur or the mix of mink and fox fur that created a plumage effect, for a glamorous look.
