Elie Saab Fall/Winter 2013: A Romantic Collection

For the first part of his Fall/Winter 2013 show, which featured daytime looks, Elie Saab chose a monochrome approach, mostly showing all black silhouettes, occasionally punctuated by infusions of indigo blue. He focused instead on shape and construction: expertly sculpted day dresses with ample knee-length A-line skirts and cutout necklines framing the face, or with peplum waists and demeure pencil skirts, were alternated with looks made up of straight-cut trousers paired with jackets with accentuated waists.

When it came to nighttime looks, Saab went with a game of transparencies and detailing, blending tulle and silk veils with elegant lace embroidery and sparkling sequin appliqués, to create glamorous silhouettes with a powerful dose of sensuality.
