Dries Van Noten Fall/Winter 2013: Masculine Vs. Feminine In A Game Of Contrasts

In a carefully managed game of contrasts, Dries Van Noten sent out onto the runway for his Fall/Winter 2013 show, silhouettes made up of a mix of menswear and womenswear-specific elements.

Coats and jackets with straight-cut lines were embellished by minute embroideries in cheerful colours, shirts and trousers were worn underneath flirty dresses with playful fringes or brocade tops with metallic thread, wide-leg pants were paired with fluid silk tops with a suave floral print, while men’s coats were sweetened with delicate crystal and feather appliqués.

The fusion between masculine and feminine, translated into the juxtaposing of silhouettes with rigid, austere lines, with the ostentation of crystals, the volatility of plumage and the elegance of embroidery, gave birth to a collection dripping with sophistication and elegance.
