Glamour Prom At The Dsquared2 Show

Distancing themselves from the avalanche of black sobriety that has encased the city of Milan within the last week, twins Dean and Dan Caten have recreated, for the Fall/Winter collection of their Dsquared2 brand, the atmosphere of a high school prom, complete with disco balls and a sign reading „Class of 2013”.

The defining note of the show had a tendency for a vintage, 60’s feel, however, judging by the models’ bouffant hair, the oversized sunglasses of the cropped tops.

Some of the models, accompanied onstage by partners, in order to recreate as much as possible the high school prom atmosphere, were decked in long evening gowns with sinuous, ultra-feminine silhouettes, or short extra-sexy cocktail dresses.

Chromatically speaking, the inspiration for this collection seems to have come from the inside of a box of multicoloured crayons, contributing to the touch of youthfulness and freshness.

The fabrics were too abundantly alternated – crocodile skin (in the form of a green jacket paired with cropped pink pants), mink fur (in the form of a striped cropped top), a gold lamé skirt, leopard print fur coats, rolled-hem jeans – each and every garment found its place in the collection.

Dean and Dan Caten have thus issued a manifesto against the sobriety of the cold season, bringing to attention that a fall or winter look needn’t be as gloomy as the weather outside.
