Christian Dior Couture F/W 2011-2012 Backstage View

Calendar check: October. Well, I decided that, since I was behind in the couture shows, I had to make up for it in the fall/winter collections 2011-2012.

Number one in the curiosity and hearsay top “avant le défilé” was the fashion show by Christian Dior. Why? Because after exiling John Galliano away from the Dior squad isle, all critical looks have been eyeing Bill Gaytten, the fresh name to head up the label’s design team.

The preview a week before (when Gaytten presented the new collection for men John Galliano) was not enough to feed the fashion eaters’ appetence for beauty. So, all the Parisian elite laid siege to the elegant Museé Rodin, the regular host of the grandiose fashion performances signed by the Maison Dior.

And if Dior turned its exquisite eye-catching skill into a genuine tradition, Gaytten’s collection did not depart from this trend. Preserving the architectural line of past seasons, the designer gave a playful tone to his designs, electrifying the audience with color and texture games.
