Choose The Best Sweater For Your Body Type

The cold season is finally here, but that doesn’t mean you have to mourn the loss of your summer dresses. Cozy sweaters are as stylish as can be this winter, so find out here how to choose the best one for your body type:

If you have a long and lean silhouette

If you have a short torso but were blessed with long legs, put the latter into focus with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings, while dressing your top half in long sweaters that will optically elongate your entire figure. Cable knit sweaters in pastel tones work extremely well with your body type, and so does a pop of colour, which redirects attention towards the bust area. For a little bit of glamour, go for a shiny sweater, which will add a few extra curves to your body.

If you have a full, curvy silhouette

If you’ve got curves, don’t try to hide them, show them off! Choose oversize sweaters which you can pair with skinny jeans, or diagonal hems which do wonders when it comes to making you look skinnier. Also, don’t be afraid of colour: choose a sweater in a super-intense shade, such as cobalt blue, and wear it with the front part tucked into your trousers, for a truly slimming effect.

If you have a pear-shaped silhouette

If the bottom half of your body is fuller than the top one – that is, broad hips, narrow bust, but overall, you have an athletic figure, go for sweaters with asymmetrical hems. A pullover that is short in the front and long in the back will lengthen your legs. You may also try a sheer trimmed sweater for the exact same effect, but with a boost of glamour, or one in an intense hue, like bright red or orange, which will direct attention to your top half.
