Chic Patchwork In Jean Paul Gaultier’s F/W 2013 Collection

Just like telling a story of how clothes are made, which implies draping fabric onto mannequins in the atelier and pinning it with studs to achieve the desired form, Jean Paul Gaultier opened his Fall/Winter 2013 show depicting this precise concept.

Corset-tight tops in leather, taffeta or lurex, with stud appliqués and sleeves torn at the shoulder in an apparent negligence, were paired with fluid silk georgette skirts or skinny pants.

The highlight of the show, however, were the jackets and coats in patchworked fur, with a vivid chromatic, worn as is or over short flirty dresses or long and diaphanous gowns.
