Chic Minimalism In The Céline Fall/Winter 2013 Show

Forgoing this season the straight-cut, liniar silhouettes, that are a statement of the label, Phoebe Philo imagined for Céline, a collection in which minimalist outfits with a distinctly elegant allure, were given curves and a sophisticated type of roundness, following the shape and movement of the body.

The show was opened with a suite of dresses with flirty skirts, tightly wrapped around the waist and flared towards the knees, fashioned out of soft wool or delicate cashmere, in soft shades of blush or ivory. They were alternated with short dresses with drapings imitating the image of a cardigan wrapped around the hips or the shoulders, and coats with cocoon silhouettes, while a series of checked patterns broke the line-up of solid colours. The end of the show re-featured the fit-and-flare silhouettes presented in the beginning, punctuating them with oversize collars, for an ultra-chic effect.
